I’m Gemma, a mum to two boys. I started my Sing and Sign journey five years ago, when I lived in Cambridgeshire. My son and I loved our weekly Sing and Sign classes. His first signs were “Home” and then “More” — with many more rapidly added to his repertoire. Signing definitely helped ease his frustration with communicating pre-speech (for instance, a quick “Home” sign on a long car journey stopped many a scream) and it wasn’t long before he was able to tell us exactly what he wanted! When we moved back to my hometown of Bradford, I looked for nearby classes to continue my second son’s signing journey (his first sign was “Duck” by the way!) and found there were none in my area. I saw this as an opportunity to bring the franchise here and didn’t hesitate. I’m now super-excited to offer the joy of Sing and Sign to Bradford and Calderdale!
